“Some like it hot, and some sweat when the heat is on. Some feel the heat and decide that they can’t go on.” In this interactive session, we will find out who is the hottest by using a wireless temperature probe, an iPad, and the Vernier Go Wireless Temp app. You will use the probe to collect data and the iPad and app to instantly graph those data. Using mathematics and computational thinking, you will interpret the data and construct a scientific argument based on the evidence collected in the investigation. We will also discuss the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of using these technologies in the elementary school science classroom. This session may be beneficial for pre-service teachers who are looking for authentic ways to incorporate science, probeware, and iPads in your lesson plans.
