We will explore game design, digital storytelling, and basic coding as we sprint to develop basic text-based games and prototypes in under an hour. We will start our session with text-based game examples, learn the basics of Twine, and start planning the games we will create/prototype on our iPads. The rest of our session will be spent experimenting and creating games.

If you're seeking new ways to captivate your students in fun design projects, this is a great place to start, as we'll explore the intersection of writing, coding, and game design. Whether you're looking to facilitate project-based learning, host student-centered design projects, teach information/media literacy, (etc.) then this session is for you. Since Twine is a free/open source tool and works on inexpensive devices like iPads and chromebooks the barrier to produce games in the classroom has never been lower!

For a preview of our session, visit the http://eXperiencePlay.education website.
