This session is like a rock'n'roll song. It has simple components that mash together in a way to create something catchy. Session goers will have an opportunity to create a research project using basic apps and websites while also asking students to drive most of the inquiry.

Kahoot was getting to be an overplayed song for my students. They were tuning out Google Docs so much that they were just becoming electronic worksheets. One day I asked my class, “What questions would you ask if you were making a quiz?” The ideas started forming and students were eager for direction. So I asked, ”What do we need to know about the history of Mexico?” The hunt was on!

Attendees will follow a lesson where students are asked to find topics that fall into one of five categories. The research gets even deeper and students are asked to form questions based on their topic. The class cross-examines each other’s information in search for information that might have been made into a quiz question. Finally, the whole class plays a game using all of the questions from the research! It's the ol' student-question-research-game routine!
